Good to know:
Please always close the windows before you leave. Sudden heavy rain showers can occur, and otherwise the inside may get wet.

Our pets:
We have 3 dogs and 2 cats roaming freely on the property. They are very friendly, but if they cause any परेशance, please let us know.

Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped. You are welcome to use everything available, but we kindly ask you to replace ingredients that are (almost) finished. This way, no one has to invest too much in basic supplies. The tap water is very чист and safe to drink.

Shared kitchen for Flamingo and Pelican:
There is a filter coffee machine and a large refrigerator available for your use. Other guests appreciate it if you dry the dishes after washing and put everything back in its place. Please do not store food outside the fridge, as this attracts unwanted animals. The tap water is very clean and safe to drink.

Waste:
Waste separation is not practiced here, and there is no deposit system, so unfortunately everything — including bottles — goes into the general waste bin. Full bags can be disposed of in the green container in the parking area. New bags are in the kitchen drawer; if they run out, just let us know.

Bathroom:
The first roll of toilet paper is provided; after that, we ask you to supply your own. Toilet paper can be flushed normally.

Towels:
We do not automatically provide fresh towels. If you feel they need replacing, just send us a message and we will provide clean ones.

Cleaning:
We ask you to keep the apartment and kitchen as clean as possible yourself. Cleaning supplies are available in the apartment. Bed linen is changed once a week, but if you would like fresh linen sooner, just let us know.

Drying laundry:
Most apartments have a drying rack. Pelican and Flamingo have a line under their terrace, and Chuchubi has its own washing line behind the house.

Electricity:
Octopus is not connected to the main electricity grid. All power is generated by solar panels and stored in batteries for nighttime use. This is also why we do not have air conditioning, as it consumes too much energy. For other usage, there is usually enough power, but we appreciate mindful use and shorter hot showers.

Animals you might prefer not to meet (and how to prevent them):
Store food in sealed containers or in the fridge. Do not leave dishes too long, empty the trash at least every two days, and wipe the counter with vinegar (ants dislike it).
Mosquitoes: There is a mosquito net, but it is not 100% effective. Use repellent with at least 25% DEET.
If you have issues with ants or other animals, let us know.

Smoking:
Not in the bedroom. Elsewhere is allowed.

Music:
Only softly on your own veranda, so other guests are not disturbed. Not in the garden or by the pool.

Check-in / Check-out:
Check-in: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Check-out: before 11:00 AM

No need to strip beds or clean thoroughly.
Please empty the fridge and dispose of opened food. Unopened items may be left on the counter. We also appreciate if you empty the trash.

You can leave the key in the door.

Important:
Flights to the Netherlands often depart late in the afternoon. If you want to be sure you can use the apartment until then, we recommend booking an extra night.
If the apartment is available, a late check-out may be possible for €25.
